Welcome the skateinstructor.com newsletter, July 2009!

Welcome the the new skateinstructor.com news letter that I've been promising you all for so long!

The shinny new web site is now live thanks to all the amazing hard work that Nic has put into it. As with all web sites it's a work in progress so please do give us your feedback. It's pack with loads of cool stuff like skate video clips, listings of skate (un)friendly places to go to in London where you can add your own places, special discount offer packages for private lessons and even the skate weather for the day with much more to come. Please do tell us what you would like to see in it?

We want to congratulates Ofran who did a amazing job skating with us from Trafalgar Square to Wandworth then London Bridge. It was a long skate (about 14 miles) along the river, and she was really impressive. Well done!
Kudos also everyone who who skated for the first time on Sunday and now manage to start, stop and turn. You are doing great guys, keep on practicing, a few more lessons, and you'll be ready for street skating, and skating to work!

The Met Office is saying that we are going to have some dry spells this coming week-end, so no excuse, put you skates on, and join the fun! "Get Fit - Lose Weight - Have Fun - Save Money - Live Longer - Make Friends!!!"skateinstructor.com logo

  • Mark, Mike and Quentin's Practice Club. Many new skaters seem to struggle with practicing on their own, and I can understand why. The park is often an intimidating place to come to with so many good skaters around, and so many spectators, and skating is hard enough just on its own. It's also intended as a stepping stone towards the more difficult challenges of the weekly streetskates. Read more

London Street Skates

The London skater community created these regular street skates several years ago. They are marshalled, where very good skaters block the traffic to provide a safe environment, and are "absolutely free". The Sunday Stroll is a good street skate for beginners whereas the London Friday Night Skate is much, much faster! Run throughout the year these are a prime example of the community working together.
